Last Day

The last day always leaves me with mixed feelings. I am anxious to get home but I hate to leave. I think if I had my own place and could cook my own food, it would be better. By the end of the week I am tired of the food and the staff at Sosua by the Sea.
There are lots of families with little kids. The whole pool area is a large trash can. Nobody was picking up after themselves. A guy from Long Island took my favorite table at breakfast and my favorite chair at the pool. What was better, he knew it as he smirked at me when I walked by. His wife was in another section. See his picture below.
Anyway, my last day was peaceful and tonight's sunset was beautiful and the colors softened the blue of the sky. I wish I could sit and watch it every night.
My next post will be from the US and about my efforts to get back in the swing of school. Can't wait!

Good Friday

Any day with weather like today is a Good Friday. Everything is closed for the Holy Day. The hotel has filled up with local families. I read a complete book today. Restful!
It is a very restful life here. It is just peaceful. I will say it is a little chilly tonight and I was almost going to wear a light jacket. Then I came to my senses. Is this really jacket weather  for a New Englander. I say not!
Last full day tomorrow.

This morning's rainbow is a regular occurance.

Thursday, I Think

I went to Cabarete again today. Once again, I got caught in a heavy downpour. Good thing I drip dry! Cabarete was getting ready for "Santa Samana" (Holy Week). There was staging and some big speakers being set up on the beach.
My hotel is filling up. People were in my regular lounge when I got back. There are now a bunch of little kids in the pool. It reminds me of first grade lunch. OMG!
 Someone in my chair!

Anyway, I am sure I will make the best of the whole thing. It is still beautiful here.

Too Much Sun and Fun (at least sun!)

Well, I was hardly my energetic self. The sun got to me and I laid low this afternoon and stayed in the airconditioned room. I started a new book by the author of the Wicked series and it is pretty entertaining. I did not even take my camera out of my bag. I did, however, have to retrieve it from every place I sat down.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be more on target.(and my post will be more fun filled.
The hotel is beginning to fill up, which is good. I was tired of being the only one at the pool. Here are a couple of pictures from the last two days:

Hot, Hot, Hot!

The day started with rain. Great day to head for Cabarete. Wrong! You get awefully wet on the back of a motorcycle. However, the sun did come out and I did see a really nice apartment. Not right on the beach but close enough. It had a great pool and I do prefer the pool. Sand is so gritty!
When I got back to Sosua, it was hot and there was no breeze. Wonderful conditions to work on my sunburn. At this point my head hurts from the burn. I have that burning flesh smell. Charming! Almost finished my second book.
Dinner was mundane but the sunset was magnificent. (see below.) There is nothing like relaxing.

Fabulous

It was an absolutely perfect day. For most of the day I awas the only one in the pool. I walked the beach (without sunscreen) and I resemble the tomato that ate Chicago (if there was such a tomato.) This is certainly a dry run for retirement. So far so good.

I am putting up 3 pics today. One is an experiement. Let me know what you think. (Hopefully you will know which photo it is.

I am never doing 3 pictures again. I have been at it for 2 hours. The wireless here is starting to make the Malden Public School system look like state of the art.
Until tomorrow.

Paradise

This place is great. What job? What bills? What house needs work? There are very few people here. It is a ghost town. I finished the book I was reading about the Supreme Court and I am ready to start another. (Something a little lighter.) I gotta go to bed I am exhausted.
